It is written~

The summer vacation started off with a bumpy beginning so far. I've been doing a lot of tennis and ultimate and trying to lose weight like crazy. That means I lose my favorite meal of the day, my midnight snack. I have acquired this meal called breakfast though. Apparently it's healthier for me. I've run enough to cut off a couple pounds yet my weight seems to have remained constant. After speaking with my clinic nurse she explained that I was gaining muscle after all this nonstop running and muscle weighed more than fat. Therefore my weight did not change even if I did lose fat. This was somewhat displeasing to me since it meant that I could no longer reach my goal of losing weight over the summer. I had also been reading lots like my fantasy series Vampire Hunter D, and my mystery book nearing completion School Days by Robert B. Parker. As for movies I had watched nearly every movie out recently and a few that were pretty old. I watched Slumdog Millionaire finally, which I loved, and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, which was pretty cheesy too and I liked that.

Last Thursday I went to a friends house to play mahjong. However, he seemed to be less interested in the game and a tad bit more interested in someone else that was there. He was a good friend of mine but it just annoys me a bit if someone ignores the group and pays attention to a specific person. Ella was there too so I did not lose my temper. Earlier that day I had even cooked Ella a meal of Kraft Dinner, chicken soup, corn, and a special dessert I discovered myself. She seemed to enjoy it, and even if she lied about enjoying it, it made me quite happy. It was probably because we both really enjoy sweet things so out taste buds matched. We also played a bit of Rockband there. Jam was quite terrible... I mean terrific at drums and guitar. She even managed to not die the second time she played. We could never get her to sing though. It was as if she truly believed that the rest of us could sing either, which we could not really. Accept Pwner and Sky which were in Madrigals the top rated school choir... and Ella which was on the waiting list for Madrigals. So basically I guess only Lan and I could not sing. The day went by quickly and we played a ton of Stepmania. The time of my prime was in grade 10 when I played Stepmania for 6 months before I quit. I was surprised to realize I had retained some of the skill and could still do level 8 songs.

Last Saturday I went with Ella to the mall to shop for a friends birthday present. Then we went to play badminton at her church. At first I missed everything. Near the end I hit most of my shots relatively cleanly and was able to do relatively nice drop shots. However all the tennis had ruined my timing and ability to play badminton. It had been three months since I last played and I could only get to less than 3/4 of my original skill. However it was refreshing since badminton is one of my favourite sports. Badminton and tennis are the two sports I love improving on the most and the ones I love playing the most. Ultimate is a sport I plan on improving on since all my friends play. Basketball I was trained in by friends I used to hang out with and I still play guard relatively well. Ping pong is the sport I grew up playing and my uncles and family members forced me to learn. I am actually pretty good at it and I can potentially be competing material if I work harder at it, but because it was forced upon me I tend to not like it as much as tennis or badminton because it feels more like work and not play to me. I guess the lesson of the day is that no matter what you do make sure you do it with passion and that you enjoy it or else there's no point in continuing.

More for my Jellybean Series~

Art Gallery of Ontario~

I was in desperate need of inspiration. This summer I would have been decorating a couple of my friends rooms with some sort of paint job, and helping a friend design his company logo. On top of that I had be asked to design gaming equipment exteriors for the owner of a game store near my house. He had his own pet project of making fighting pads for gaming systems and he needed a print for the pad. In order to find the inspiration, I chose not to wait around. I invited a couple of my friends to come with me to the Art Gallery of Ontario or the AGO. Early that morning I met up with Luna and Ella at school. We then bussed to Kennedy Station to meet up with Melly. When we all arrived at Eaton Center a shopping mall down town we met up with Jam and her friend Andy.

We shopped around for what seemed to be ages in search of a gift for J.Liu since we were going to her birthday party at the beach the following week. It was a very silent journey since Jam and Andy did not speak with Ella and Luna at all. They did not know each other that well. I did not want to bother Jam either since she seemed busy talking with Melly and Andy most of the time so I stuck with Luna and Ella, which I had always talked to. When it came time for lunch we all agreed on getting J.Liu a shocking game since it was so different from anything anyone else would get her. Arriving at Mc Donald''s Luna ordered a quarter pounder meal and I ordered a strawberry sundae with two apple pies. We all ate and talked about things that didn't really matter. Chris from Ella's church passed by and it was nice to see him again. Either way by the time we finished eating it was time to go to the AGO.

Arriving at the AGO we walked through a rotating door. It was the first time in a while I had walked through one of those and it was fun. We got our free tickets because we were students of Toronto and we explored like crazy. The exhibits were amazing and I loved the place. It was like an explosion and overloading of ideas and inspiration. The Group of Seven had the largest collection and largest exhibit. This is expected since they were Canadian. They were one of my main inspirations since I was younger but I could never have done anything as great as they had. There was one art piece of a sink attached to the wall, and one of a pile of rocks onto of a pile of Cheetos. They also had a Tekken arcade machine as an art piece. It seems as if everything was art. Most of the art pieces were very dark and cruel. Now I understand that true art is very harsh and breathtaking because it is based on truth and thriving emotions. True art conjures up emotions and thoughts you would've never imagined. For a piece of art to generate emotion is what I had always tried to do. While at the AGO I studied painting techniques as hard as I could since I would be painting the rooms of friends in the near future.

Later on near closing time, Luna, Ella and I ran all the way up the spirally staircase that seemed to be endless to reach the third and forth floors during the last ten minutes before closing time. It was exhausting but it was worth it. We saw more modern art and things that really sparked my interest. When we left we went back to Eaton Center to go to Indigo and later on we all went home. This was somewhat of a slow day but it was fun. The lesson I learned today is that inspiration is waiting for you to find it, so you shouldn't be waiting for inspiration to find you.

You can stand under my umbrella~

Today I planned on helping Sky pack his things so that he could move. However they had stayed up late playing video games again therefore was not at Sky's house yet. While talking with numerous individuals on MSN, Sher decided we should go out for lunch. on the way to the mall we both met on the bus. After obtaining five tacos from Taco Bell, we went to the dollar store to get drinks. We ate and then shopped around for a while. Turns out after we ventured to Coles we realized we read the same type of fantasy novels. To me that's a really cool fact for most of my friends are female and most females don't tend to read fantasy.

When Sher had to leave I bussed to Lan's house on the same bus that Sher takes to meet up with them. They continued on to play Devil May Cry 4 since Sky slept over at Lan's house after Lan's birthday the previous day. That day we helped Sky pack as he was moving from his apartment to his brand new house. Now Pwner, Lan, and Sky will live in the same general area, where as I who had once lived within walking distance of Sky will be left alone. This does in some cases suck, but I guess I shouldn't be complaining. In the end we still all hang out together. It may take more effort on my part but we're still buddies. On Friday we once again met up at Sky's house to help him pack. Later that night we went to his fellowship cell group outing to play ultimate frisbee. It was a full field ten on ten game, with the B-Sharps versus the Awkward Turtles. Two teams obviously named by teenagers. The game was interesting but it was fun nonetheless.

After the game everyone walked over to Pizza Hut where we had a very nice refreshing dinner. We ordered glasses of soft drinks that could be refilled for free. Even though all the drinks had a mild root beer taste to them, I managed to drink four drinks totaling three refills. I only ate half of a lasagna that day due to stomach pain. Every time we needed refills we tried our hardest to make eye contact with the waiter Kevin but he totally ninja'd us and never gave us even a glance. It was like he knew we were looking for him and knew if he never looked at us he'd never have to help us. The night was filled with laughter and immaturity mostly from me, but Sky was stuck calling a ton of girls on the phone.

The next morning, Sky and Lan went to Sky's new house to sand the walls down smooth enough for a coat of paint. However I was too busy bailing another friend of mine out. Tinnie needed my artistic talents for a separate job. It was 9 AM in the morning and I took a 30 min bus to her house where at a nearby park a picnic had been scheduled. We assumed that if it rained the picnic would have been cancelled. We were wrong. Some events had tents while others like ours were stuck outside in the rain. Till 3 PM we were stuck outside face painting on kids as the rain washed away at our work. She needed me because she was working solo that day and needed a second face painter. She couldn't just choose anyone or else the committee would assume she did not put forth her best effort in scouting artistic potential. Therefore as Tinnie's friend I was obliged to help her.

My summer vacation had only started three days ago yet it's felt like weeks at a time. Although I've been out almost everyday now, I've still felt a sense of loneliness. I do not know if it is because all my grade 12 friends are leaving me, or if it's because Sky is leaving my area, or even something else that I may not mention. I terribly miss everyone I haven't seen and I wish to see everyone soon. The only song that describes how I feel at this moment is Rihanna - Umbrella.

When the sun shines, we'll shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be a friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out till the end

Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella

Here is a version sung by Mandy Moore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMB6YOWzQMY. The lesson of the day is to never face paint in the rain because only lunatics and crazy people do such crazy things. But if you have a good enough friend like me, they'll be willing to be crazy for you.

Putting a raindate on fun~

On this faithful Wednesday, I had an early morning Biology exam with 100 multiple choice 15 matching and 10 short answer within the span of two hours. Of course I completed with ease and speed since I did not write anything down for short answers and guessed my way through all of the multiple choice. That is how true champions do things. For one of the written explanations, I described macrophages as "really big phages". This exam was only worth 10% of our final grade and I knew I was going to pass the course anyways so I decided not to study. Upon completion of the examination, we ventured down to the music rooms. At the music rooms I bumped into Luna and Ella. Ella and Luna had their choir auditions that day so I wished them the best of luck. After a while of frolicking in the halls I went home to get my running shoes for the first day of TJSL (Toronto Juniors Summer League) for ultimate frisbee.

Upon my return to school I proceeded to the food courts near my school. I met up with Ella, Luna, and Ping. It was Lan's birthday and I was supposed to meet up with them to play ultimate, hence the running shoes and shorts I was wearing. However as fate would have it, Sky went to the mall with a friend and Lan went to lunch with his Biology teacher. I was left alone. In wait of their reply for plans of regrouping, I talked to Ping, Luna, and Ella. Eventually Luna and Ping left as the rain came and it was decided that TJSL was canceled for the day. It definitely "rained" on Lan's party. So as I waited for their call I spoke with Ella as she awaited her mother's vehicle. We hadn't had a personal conversation in such a long period of time due to summative evaluations and examinations. We talked from four to five thirty straight just talking and talking about everything going on in our lives and things that have been on our minds. One idea would branch to another and eventually it'd be time for her to leave. I cannot tell you the contents of the conversation but I can truthfully say I was very glad I had that conversation with Ella. It brightened up my rainy day because I missed talking to her so much. She was one of few people I truly opened up to.

As Ella go into her car and left I had to sprint across the sidewalk and neighbouring school to get to the bus stop that would eventually take me to Lan's house. However it was raining and raining hard it was. As I reached the final light, the bus I needed to take just passed by. So I waited. The Brimley bus would not be considered particularly fast but it would no doubt come. That day is seemed like it would never come. Three of the same buses with the same number went down the other side of the street before mine had come. If I did not know better I would've thought the bus driver was driving around in circles to mess with me. By the time I got to Lan's house we played Devil May Cry 4 a very fun action RPG game, and some mahjong. For the first time I also got to play Punchout, and we play a bit of Rockband because we all love Rockband so much. unfortunately I had to sing. Being the brilliant singer I am, I sang under expert I am and still managed to pull 90's. It is such a shame that I have no ability to sing in real life.

As the clock struck nine, we bussed to Korean Barbecue where we would meet our fellow "home boys" to have Lan's 18th birthday dinner. However, it was scheduled for 10 o'clock and we arrived at 9:35 PM. Therefore, we waited outside like hobos and did stupid things in the rain. When everyone arrived we went inside and ate. During the course of the dinner all Sky, Pwner, and I did was sing songs performed by Flight of the Conchords, and say that's what she said after every single sentence we found humorous. At one point a girl said to Lan, who was pocking the palm of his hand, "Stop that, it's annoying." Sky and I automatically screamed "That's what she said!" and everyone at the table bursted out in laughter. At one point during the dinner I was so high I did the Spongebob magic routine, where you link your index and thumb of both hands and then "magically" have one of the circles formed enter the second circle. This was accompanied by catchy background music produced by my mouth. It was of course a lame act that I would've only done if I was extremely high. The night went well and I arrived home at 12:35AM. Lan had somehow come up with enough money to pay for all ten people. What I had bought Lan for his birthday was a hat I designed myself. The lesson I learned today is that gifts arn't measured by how much it costs but how much it means.

Waiting on a line of greens and blues~

Waking up the day after my prom with virtually no sleep whatsoever, I had to be at Burrows Hall for the 42 Division Police Picnic by 8 AM. It was 6:30 AM. With little time to spare I quickly got ready and ran out the door. Since waiting for the Brimley bus took nearly forever, I called one of my old Scout buddies that lived near the area to give me a lift since they were going as well. I walked over and go to the picnic around 8:30 AM. Since everyone was setting up, it was the perfect time for Mat and I to go out and grab a bite to eat since we were all dying of starvation and I had been malnourished anyways. We walked to KFC to realize it wasn't open till 11. Than we went to Food Basics realizing buying everyone a pack of buns would really upset them we walked over to Country Style. We ordered four Sausage Egg & Cheddar sandwich combos and it took the lady close to 30 minutes to prepare. The food wasn't even freshly cooked it was just microwaved. Since we were waiting for such a long period of time she gave us close to a 50% discount which made the wait worth it. Leaving the store Mat said "Oh gosh we should've just went over to the Toyota dealership and 'test drive' a car to Mc Donalds." That idea was golden but was thought of too late.

At the beginning of the event I got a ton of hugs from friends I had not seen in a long long while from Victoria Park and other places as well. They began the day off with a bit of stupidity as they all tried to hurdle over the opening of the inflatables. They hurt themselves and the inside was wet with water. I laughed. Later on that day we all went to our stations. I worked at face painting. My good friends Mei and Eve worked at the mini games beside me. The only person I knew at face painting was Yiyang and Jess, but Jess wasn't a volunteer, she was working for the hall as a staff member and also as did arts and crafts opposed to face painting. The day was hectic and I was dead tired, but nonetheless it was fun. During lunch we got disgusting Boston Pizza pizza that had no taste and was way too dry. During the course of the day I was on the lookout for a pretty girl that I expected to come. Tinnie the volunteer coordinator was also a good friend of mine and she had told me that she invited an extremely pretty girl there as her assistant and told me to never get near her or even look at her for I was a big threat due to my apparent "flirtatious" nature that I was not aware of. In the end I was not able to find this mysterious girl.

During our free time we painted on each other. I painted on this one girl called Amanda because she wanted to see what I could do since I was just sitting there. I drew an onion head emoticon on her from a popular set of MSN emotions. She thought it was cute. After talking to Amanda for a while her friend Stacy started to speak as well. Stacy was a pretty girl I would not have had the nerve to speak with if she had not spoken first. So I asked if I could draw on her and she agreed to it. Since I had to stabilize her arm so she wouldn't move I held her hand with my left hand. I was so nervous I began to shiver but let us hope she did not realize. I might have even blushed a bit. Contact with pretty girls was not a regular thing for me. I drew a heart with a crown and a set of wings on her. It was one of my signature designs I had designed a while back.

Half the kids walking around the picnic had looked like Spiderman since one kid started to get Spiderman, every other kid decided to as well. Near the end of the day we all packed up and I was crazy tired. While leaving I got more hugs from my friends and was invited to go to dinner with them. However, I was short on cash and I had a family dinner to attend to. It was a good day for me since I got to meet new people and see old friends. I actually lasted pretty long for a sleep deprived man with no energy whatsoever. At the family dinner I nearly fell asleep but managed to stay awake. As I left the restaurant I bumped into Kelvin one of the volunteers I met at the picnic that day. He had to walk from Midland and Sheppard to Warden and Huntingwood because no one had any bus tickets or change for him. It was a walk that would've taken anyone over an hour. Afterwards, I asked Tinnie where the extremely pretty assistant was and she told me it was actually Stacy. She had stuck her right under my nose and I had not noticed at all because it was the last place I would have looked. She had ninja'd me like a true master. The lesson I learned today is that what you're looking for may be a lot closer than you think.

Somewhere only we know~

I will always refer to this as my 48 hour day for within those 48 hours I obtained no sleep whatsoever. Friday morning was the morning of my prom. Saturday morning was the morning of my full day volunteer. This is the story of how I managed to do it all without killing myself. On the day of prom, I decided to still attend school to have my yearbook signed and I do believe I was one of 20 grade 12's that showed up at school. The day passed by quickly as I followed Ashy around for the first half of the day. We even played CS in the tech class. It was funny because she got two kills and was so happy while I ended up with a positive score with over 20 kills on a map I played for the very first time... I just realized how nerdy I am. Ashy left during lunch to help decorate the banquet hall for Prom at Eglinton Grand. At the end of the day I went to Rural for lunch with Luna Tiff and Ping. After that I was finally off to get ready for prom.

I had worn a regular plain black suit with a white dress shirt and black tie. During my rush to my friends house to join them in their travels to prom, I did not have enough time to gel my hair so it was flat for the night. As I arrived at Sky's house Pwner and Lan were already ready to go. They had all bought mafia type hats for show but I had not because I had planned on gelling my hair for the night. We decided to be the odd ones out and take the fashionable bus to prom opposed to the traditional limo. I was definitely riding in style with my metropass. At least we were the best looking guys on the bus. We received numerous stares from individuals both on the bus and in moving vehicles as well. Upon arrival close to thirty people had asked where my hat was since I was the only one without a hat. I would have been relieved that it was only thirty if I had known by the end of the night over 100 people would have asked me the same question.

The line to enter Eglinton Grand was way long, and upon entering we were all frisked by security. This had been the first time a man or anyone had touched me in such specific places. Standing around in the lobby now, flashes went off left and right has camera holding picture taking maniacs were setting off enough photons to blind a man. Taking our pictures I always seemed to be the one that looked out of place. At the desk we registered and got raffle tickets and picture cards. At the registration desk was Kirby, Sherry, Ashy, and several others. While everyone was getting drinks I got myself a Shirley Temple and one for Ashy as well. I was glad she was there cause my best friend would probably be what I wanted to see last before I graduate. She looked stunning that night but I never told her because then she'd just laugh at me.

We all sat down and I began signing Ruthie's yearbook. I wrote a full page in perfect small font and by the end my right hand was cramping up like mad. Mark her boyfriend was there and it was nice to see him. It was his prom as well since he did not go to the one at his own school Campbell. Nat a friend of mine was also there as someone else's date and that was cool too. We ate our salads, main courses, and desserts. The whole time I was eating I had only thought of how pretty everyone looked, even the guys I knew as immature children looked like outstanding men. We had salads, a chicken main course with potatoes, and a chocolate and vanilla sherbet dessert. The food was awesome but the portions were a bit small. Sometime during dinner a slide show was shown of pictures and video comments of the graduating class. It was a really cool funny video I enjoyed watching. Shawn Salik's dance will forever be embedded in my mind. Door prizes were handed out by raffle and 4 people from the same table won 4 of the 9 prizes. That was one lucky table. Amanda T. Won once and so did someone else at her table so she went up twice. Mr. C said "Wow this girl is really good at this game." After that the awards were given out. And the winners were...

Cutest Male: Nicolas Carter
Cutest Female: Anita Li
Court Jester: Ali Fahs
Cutest Couple: Manika Choi and Matthew Chan (MC^2)
Best Dressed Male: Nozomi Kawamura
Best Dressed Female: Julia Tang
Prom King: Chi-Wai Ng
Prom Queen: Kasanja G

Chi-Wai then danced with Kasanja to the tune Taylor Swift - Love Story as the first dance of the night. The dance floor was than open and all the grade 12s start to "dance". Dancing for us I guess would mean to jump up and down with your hand in the air. It was fun and a bit hyperactive. Even the quiet kid or the geeky kids got their freak on. Our teachers were stunned watching their favourite A plus students getting jiggy with it. The song selection was nice but I sat down as soon as the slow songs began to play. The lights above gave me somewhat of a headache as they were flashing too quickly almost as if they were trying to give us all seizures. Lan, Pwner, Sky and I were planning to take pictures with our picture cards making random funny poses but the line was way too long and so our minimal patients caused us to give up on that dream. The night was nearing an end and Ashy seemed to be having fun as well.

Later on we all left and got a ride back to Sky's place where we changed and went to Pizza Pizza to order two medium pizzas since we were all still hungry. Arriving at Lan's house we played mahjong, ate, and played Rockband. we slept extremely late that night and I had to wake up the next morning for volunteer. That'll be another story for another time. The lesson I learned today is that a magical night is only as magnificent as you make it. You can only have as much fun as you allow yourself to.

The pink umbrella~

As a stranger steps onto the local bus a pink glare catches my attention. It's a pink umbrella. I thought it was her but it wasn't. So you may ask what the significance of this pink umbrella was. It all started on that faithful Thursday afternoon. SLo had invited me to go to Twister a karaoke place with her and a bunch of friends but I did not really want to since I would have to bus there alone and also because I was running short on cash. However, after school A.Jin was bugging Ashy begging her to go because she had promised. Since Ashy seemed like she really wanted to go I agreed to go after 10 minutes of debating whether it was a good idea or not.

We waited for the Midland bus and then took the Finch bus all the way to Finch station. The ride was long and we fell asleep but it was alright because we didn't mind the rest. Upon arrival we ended up all singing English songs. This was new to me since I had only gone with my Chinese speaking friends before and we usually went to MHQ where all the songs were in Chinese. To me singing in English was something I did alone at home in the shower or in front of the computer. Hearing myself in English on the microphone was definitely a new experience as well. Ashy and SLo seemed to be having world's of fun though. That was all I really cared for. Even though I wasn't as hyper or excited as I usually would've been it was overall a good experience.

Afterwards Ashy, A.Jin and I went to go grab some dinner at a Korean place and I had no clue what the name was. The food there was really good however their service was a bit on the slow side because they were so packed that night. They didn't even pay attention to me until Ashy stood up to as for drinks. The power of beauty sure is overwhelmingly convenient. It is such a shame I will never obtain such power. The dinner was really cool though. I won my first arm wrestling match ever as I had an epic show down with A.Jin some other events transpired but the majority of it was just casual conversation about school and such. I always enjoy talking with Ashy because she always seems to have something interesting to say.

for the way back we took the Finch bus again and this time we spent the whole ride talking to one another. Ashy and I that is, because A.Jin took the subway. The conversation was deep and very meaningful to me at least. I didn't realize it until now how much I needed a friend like Ashy. I probably don't tell her this often enough but I truly am grateful that I had met her the time I did. In my grade 11 year I was relatively dead on the inside because I didn't have many friends to talk to. Ashy catapulted my outgoing personality in a way and allowed me to do things I never thought I could. She has also been one of the people that have taught me that there ARE people that are willing to accept me for who I am so there's no need to be anything else. As she got off the bus she pulled out her pink umbrella in the rain and walked off. The lesson I learned today was that, talking really helps. That night I spoke with my mother about school and such and she had actually given me the ok to go for a sleepover after prom the next day, the money to join TJSL an ultimate frisbee league for the summer, and said it was ok for me to stay back a year for my studies. This all happened within one night and within one conversation. For all that you have given me Ashy, I thank you.

A work filled day~

On the day of Ashy's birthday, I was stuck helping my dad downtown. He needed me to mow the backyard lawn. But this was no regular lawn. It was a lawn filled with 4 foot weeds. Standing in the field of grass felt as if i had shrunk... a lot. Normally, using a regular chainsaw would take about 15 minutes to complete the job. But since my dad chose to be cheap he gave me a mini chainsaw that took me a great ordeal of time. The only comparison I could make that could vividly describe what it felt like was that it was like scrubbing your bathroom floor with a toothbrush. It can be done, but sure takes a whole lot of work.

That had not been the first time I helped my dad out with his second house. He had gotten me to dig out 4 feet of soil and then fill it with sand and tiling before too. Making the stone stairway in the front yard took three people, me being one of them, a good three days, 15 hours for the first two days and 10 for the last one. It will be an experience I'll never forget. That is the origin of how I paid for my iTouch. This was over the Summer last year and I remembered it to be boiling hot. My dad wouldn't rent a wheel barrel so all the dirt and stone I had to carry in buckets. My mom tried to help out too since she had seen how warn out I was, but was unable to pick the bucket up let alone bring it to the backyard to dump on top of the grass.

We also recently renovated the front yard of my own house as well. Sinking in a good $9000 during an economic crisis to rid my front yard of all living organisms.... I will miss my tree a lot. Apparently they believe it looks better but I do not care much for lamps and tiling. After all, I'm just a kid... I have no say in such matters. Today I learned that no matter how unappreciative parents are to their kids, one must still obey them and help them in their times of need, for they will reward you with an iPod Touch.

Happy birthday Ashy~

So Ashy is one of my closest friends and her birthday is tomorrow, Saturday June 6th. Yesterday, I spent the entire evening shopping for her gift. She had hinted that she wanted long socks, a purple dress, or an umbrella. I go her neither of those. Her younger sister was going to buy her socks and the umbrella's at Pacific Mall were either not worth it, or not nice enough. The purple dresses at Pacific Mall did not pass my standards. This is because they were all too short in length. I guess since the dresses there were cheaper than other places they had to cut the cost on fabric. I wasn't going to let my best friend wear a dress that's short enough to see her knees. As protective as I am of my friends, it is only because I am old school and I believe in old school traditions.

All in all it was a fun day at the mall. I went with one of my older friends Anne, and we even saw Khalil a mando singer during his autograph signing session. Afterwords, we went to eat dinner at a cafe called Hollywood. It was a relatively nice cafe and the food was good too, except the prices were a little steep. However the atmosphere was good and the food was delicious. I hadn't spoken with Anne for a while due t our busy schedules so it was really nice to finally catch up again. In the end I gave Ashy an expensive Pocky Dessert pack, some seaweed pretzel stick thingys, fizzy candy, a penguin, a picture frame with her vector in it, a do it yourself plush cake, and a bunch of rolled out phone charms. I had spent a great deal on the phone charms because I wanted to get her a set of a series but ended up getting a ton of duplicates. I had also given her a rose I attempted to fold but greatly failed. I put it all in a box and drew on the box with markers. I must say the box took me quite a while but ended up looking great.

This morning I gave the gift to her and she seemed to really enjoy it. She smiled and that's all I ever really wanted. Ashy helped out with the music festival at school once again and so she had to miss a large portion of the school's carnival event that was being hosted that day. During second period, I spent the time tossing a frisbee in my school cafeteria with Jam. Jam was a friend of mine I had met earlier in the year but did not really get the chance to talk to quite that much.

During our school carnival they handed out burgers but you had to wait in line for the longest time. There were rides, obstacle courses, drinks, teacher dunk tanks, and tattoos. I had gotten a really random dragon tattoo on my hand while 7, a friend of mine, had gotten his on his neck. Another big thing at the carnival were water fights. So many individuals came armed with water guns and water bottles that I didn't stand a chance. I didn't expect to get wet since I wasn't going to spray anyone. I was sadly mistaken. Apparently being big makes you an easy target for bullying. I got sprayed and poured on so often I could barely remember what feeling dry was like. A bunch of idiots kept taking Jam's cruddy water gun so I ended up holding it for her cause anyone that asked me to see the water gun I just opened fire on. Interestingly enough, I actually spent quite a deal of time with Melly and Jam today. Talking to Jam for such a long period of time cheered me up after expecting a cruddy day.

After school, I tossed a bit more with a bunch of friends of mine. Ashy was there too and I walked with her for a couple of minutes having a "serious" conversation about life and such. If I didn't have anything good to say I probably wouldn't have walked with her home since she lived in the opposite direction. Yes I know I'm such a gentlemen, but I can't help it, I'm super lazy. Either way, my conversation with her was interrupted as Jam called me on her cellphone and asked if I wanted to go to the mall with her and Melly. This was a sign that she became somewhat of a closer friend to me or else she wouldn't have invited me to go shopping with her. Either that or it was Melly's suggestion and I just got dragged along. Going to the mall, I met this friend of Jam's that I had never spoken to before called Cindy. She was new to me and I had never really met her even though our sister's were best friends. She seemed quiet, but just might've been because she didn't really know who I was. Either way it was really fun and we all got shocked by this fake bubble gum thingy from Mind Games. It hurt but it was an amazing feeling. We also spent a great deal of time at Bulk Barn eating candy.

Tonight I've been watching the Youtube video Where the Hell is Matt? Check it out because it's really inspirational at how much he's seen making everything you've experienced seem like nothing at all. He connects the world in a way dancing has never done before.

For a closing to this chapter of the story that is my life, I would just like to say Happy Birthday Ashy! You're seventeen now which makes you just as old as me. Haha sucker. Thank you for always being there for me and I hope that I can always be there for you. Even when everyone else was too busy for Kevin, you've always kept one ear open. I'll always remember my volleyball loving, junk food binging, ballroom dancing friend. It's not everyday that you meet someone as different and as down to earth as you. Thank you for the memories. Today I have learned that, it doesn't matter how many friends you have, as long as everyone has that one special Ashy you'll always have a shoulder to lean on.

Nearing the end of the road~

It is nearing the end of the road and the exit is clear. Every three hundred and sixty five days that lead up to the end of what we call a school year seems to get more and more hectic every year. I haven't been able to blog for a long long while now due to the fact that I have been overwhelmed with homework. It is either the fact that things are getting harder or that we simply believed if we had survived it than it couldn't have been that bad. Even though I'm sure every one of us tells ourselves that "No! I can't make it! I'm going to die this time!" we somehow find the will to finish what we've started. For whenever there's a will, there's a way!

Not much has changed since the last time I made contact with this keyboard. I had recently finished my summative evaluations so class has been a bore as we sit in class day after day collecting dust. Today however was rather a pleasant one. During my second period spare I attended my school's event known as the Invention Convention. This is held by a grade 11 business course where groups come up with a company name and a product or service to distribute. On the day of the convention they show off their product or service and give a sales pitch. The variety of products was amazing. From Gur's Lambda ID Program to Tiff's PropRose where they plan book and set the date for when you are to propose to your loved one. Suzzy's group had done Yuki's Creative Lunchies meant for couples. Ram's group even did a hair styling product, but many of the groups like Sasa's group chose to do colour contacts.

Several interesting events had occurred that caught my attention. First of all, Eddie's group that did the universal remote lost power for a good ten minutes because someone had kicked their power bar. Another group I was not aware of chose to do a computer product and named their company PCP. To those of you that do not know, PCP is an illegal anti-depressant or a "drug" that gets you high. I believe that the group was not aware of that, I am just surprised the teacher did not catch that one. Eu's group did t-shirt designs called "Bomb". However their slogan was "Bomb the nation, bomb the world." I asked him if he realized that his company promoted terrorism and but he had no reply.

Kream had done this product, which was basically a solution of gel and shampoo. You could then style your hair after you washed it and it would stay that way. I proceeded to walk up to him and ask "What if I want to wash my hair but I don't want to gel it? Better yet what if I want to gel it but I don't want clean hair =o!?" He stared at me blankly and told me to gtfo. While I was trying to mess with Kream, Will was running around trying to mess with other people. He asked the universal remote people if the remote was so convenient, what would happen if he had gotten a finger cramp? They told him that he could than walk to whatever it is he needs to turn on. Than he replied that it then defeats the purpose of having the product and that his back hurt. K.V. ran into a similar problem as his Warm Beatz, which was the combination of headphones and a tuke, was questioned "What if snow melts while you're snowboarding and water gets into the headphones?" K.V. replied that they had insurance to cover water damage. When he had told me the situation I replied "Why didn't you just say it was water proof?" He went silent.

All in all it was a really fun convention. I had drawn a vector of Taylor Swift shortly after watching her You Belong With Me music video since she was so pretty. The lesson I had learned today is that the end of all things may seem tough but as long as you look forward, you will be able to get to the end because the end of the road really isn't that bad.
