My little Christmas miracle~

Last Wednesday my ninja friend Sherie and I ventured to Scarborough Town Center after school. On our way to the bus station, we heard a very mysterious sound. It went like "Cooo! Cooo!" Assuming it was the cry of a seagull we both looked towards the skies in search of this animal. However, the skies were clear as glass, there was not an animal in site. After a good amount of time we realized it was a child in a van with the door open. He screamed "Cooo!" in perfect intervals and in the same pitch. The child seemed to be of age eight and had a long way to go. After arriving at the mall, we went in search of ice cream. Yogen Fruz was eliminated from the list of potential shops since it was yogurt and not ice cream. Baskin Robbins was taken off as well due to over pricing of cookie dough ice cream.

As we decided to go to Wal-Mart we realized we could not finish a full tub of ice cream. In an attempt to keep our sanity we ended up getting fudge-sickles, which still was not ice cream but ice cream had to wait. I ate four and Sherie was able to eat three. We gave one to a friend I had met later on in the mall. We walked around and noticed some renovation related paint markings on the floor. As we passed by an "NN" I declared "Look! It says 'NN', that must mean not north, since north is on the other side!" As we looked vertically down to the lower floor we saw another marking "NE" and I was asked to explain this. I simply said "Duh! Obviously it's not east either!"

On Victoria Day, D.Ma came over to my house and we spent the day playing a video game online called Boxhead. Although it may seem pointless and stupid, it is definitely addictive and worth a try. Since I have motion sickness, it is one of the only shooting games I can play without getting sick afterwards. I have also upgraded my iTouch 1G to version 2.2.1, which is the newest version and I now have all the newest awesome games and I also gave it an awesome theme with the help of a program called Winterboard. My iTouch overheated twice and I had to restore twice. It fried again last night and low and behold, a Christmas miracle happened. When I came back from school it was fine again and all my 300 photos, 500 songs, 30 apps, and themes were saved from the destruction caused by over usage. This was truly a Christmas miracle in May.

Today was an eventful day. I had lots of fun during my classes but most of all, I enjoyed the time I spent with Ella and Luna after school and several other companions. We spent a good deal of time at the food court then later on migrated to the playground where I was introduced to a game called Grounders. The description they gave me didn't really push me to want to play such a dangerous game. They told me it was a game where I close my eyes and touch people. I still do not understand how that was supposed to convince me to play but nonetheless I agreed on playing anyways. It ended up to be a game where you closed your eyes and played Marco Polo however if any of the players stepped off the jungle gym you may declare Grounders and if there is an individual on the ground than they are then "it". I bumped into various bars of metal leaving several marks. However, it was still fun and exciting. For that I thank Luna for such a pleasant memory of me hitting my head against metal. The lesson I learned today is to never be afraid of trying new things, because only change can bring improvement.

Consistant uneventfulness~

I hadn't blogged much this week for you have guessed it, nothing had really happened. The grade 11's are starting their pig dissections so that should be quite interesting for them. I still remember mine from last year. We had named it Battle Pig Alfonzo. My Friday was actually quite relaxing. It started off with a bunch of my friends and I near Ella's locker. She keeps a set of Pictionary cards in her locker for joyful purposes. Clem decided he wanted to play so we started playing. He drew what looked like a stack of paper and a single sheet that was circled. After a couple hundred guesses he got frustrated and blurted out that it was a card. He insisted that were horrible guessers when we suggested that he could've just put a number on it or at least a suite. The whole time we were playing Pictionary I blurted out "downhouse" no matter what. Earlier in the year one of the words was "downtown" and the person drew and arrow pointing down and a house. Clem declared firmly that his answer was "downhouse" and ever since than I had been teasing him.

Class started relatively slowly as once again for the third time in a row calculus was a work period. Therefore I just played DS the whole period. I had been working on Jewel Quest but it never seems to end. I had been playing a ton of DS in the past two weeks and I have completed several games already. Moving on to chem, K.Tsang had worn a shirt that day with what seemed like a bleach stain design on the back. She had told me that the design was an eagle but I could not see it. The entire time the teacher was talking, I had been squinting really hard to try and make the bleach stain look like an animal. At one point I thought it could've been a bear or a cheetah.

She told me to take the picture to show me the eagle... I still don't see it...

During lunch, I bought one of the Writer's Block publications just because Ella was sitting there. I had been curious about her writing and wanted to support her hobby. Lunch was pretty relaxing but than I had physics afterwards. It was the second half of my physics presentation. The first half had gone really well but the lab portion, which was the second half went into flames. It was completely unorganized. However, one of the groups had broken one of the $8 lasers and someone had cracked a couple of the glass double slits so the teacher gave me the laser and one of the glass double slits.

When it came time for my spare, I had expected to go out to the field and watch my friends warm up for Ultimate Frisbee but I had gotten caught up in the cafeteria. Mr. T's exercise science class had a smoothie making assignment so I went in and drank every body's smoothie. One tasted like chocolate milk, a majority of them tasted like mango or strawberry mixed with yogurt. However, there were a few with a very distinct taste. Tamz had blended yogurt with banana and peanut butter. Since none of the ingredients had a strong flavour it ended up tasting relatively bland but the texture of it felt like sand. However, there was worst to come. Willson had added several dozen items including peanut butter and bread into his concoction and it was not pretty. It had a sickly green colour to it and it tasted like liquid ginger with no ginger added at all. The moment I drank it I felt it coming back up. However Mr. T spent the whole class making fun of Tamz drink and telling everyone not to try it. Afterwards I helped Vinny clean up since I had drank so much of her strawberry smoothie since it tasted the best.

After school, Ella, Ping, Luna and I went to the food court near our school. We ate and talked about a dozen things until six. When Ella left for fellowship, Ping and I walked Luna to the bus stop and I waited with Luna till her bus had arrived. I do not remember the contents of our conversation but I do remember it was very enjoyable. I wanted to a plaza nearby called Dragon Center for I had diner plans with family around seven. To kill time I walked into a game store and had a conversation with the owner. He told me that I had strong talent in the arts and he would help me try to find artistic odd jobs. I would get paid around $10 a job or so as I helped people with things such as posters and t-shirt designs. I do not expect much to come from this but I do hope I get a job or two in the summer. To obtain money from a hobby I love and cherish is truly a dream come true.

Lastly, I had recently finished a 500 piece Winnie the Pooh puzzle I had started with my sister. She asked for my assistance but apparently "helping" to her meant I did all the work and she watched. It took me around 3 hours to complete the entire puzzle. It was not too difficult until I had gotten to the part with a clear blue sky. I sure do hope something comes up soon, I'm starting to get super bored around here. The lesson of the day would probably have to be, persistence is the only was to complete anything such as puzzles.

Into the world of gaming~

I have never played many video games in my life. Even if I did I only played leisurely. I play arcade style fighting games a lot but I can't actually do any air combos or anything. Most of what I play are like party games or games that are short and simple. Even games like Mario Kart DS I have never gone to the lengths of trying to figure out how to "snake" or any of that stuff. I used to play with my Dreamcast and PSX a lot but now I have a PSP and DS. I still largely only play my DS.

I am what people call a light gamer. I play once in a while very inconsistently and I play games that take very little skill. I use to really like the game Cooking Mama 2 - Dinner with Friends. Something about games where you do very random actions that make it very fun such as WarioWare Touch! and Mario Party. Lately I've discovered a simple RPG called Cookie Shop. As the cute little pink animal above the blue one, you own a bakery where you may arrange your own furniture and discover new recipes to add to your shop's menu. It is a blend of Habbo Hotel and Cooking Mama. Although it is quite easy, the most part of why I play it is because you can design your own store, and maybe slightly because it's so cute. Here's a link to the trailer of this game:

SLo has also given me a sight today where people submit failed exam answers of hilarious proportions. It seems as if friends always find a way to make my day better than expected. Here's the link for the site mentioned:

This site is very self explanatory and it makes me laugh. The lesson of the day is, no matter how hard you work and study, you'll always need a way to relax before you go completely insane.

The dark cafe~

Today I did not actually have much planned. I stayed home for the majority of it doing homework and eating Nestle Drumsticks. I ate four to be exact. I am definitely what you would call a beast. I do not care about weight or how unhealthy it is because we all only live once so why not do something we actually enjoy. Fortunately for me I had a friend that dragged me out in the middle of the night to make me do work for her.

Her name is Tinnie, or so I call her. She's a bit older than me around five years to be exact. We met a while ago and we've been awesome friends ever since. She's a good role model for me despite the fact that shes super dry to me most of the time and acts like she doesn't care about me. But of course I know she does because she knows I'm awesome =P. In one way or another I treat her like a cousin or a sister of some sort. We met through family at first, than became closer in Scouts 388th division, and finally I volunteer for her for special events that she is affiliated with. I try to work extra hard to make her look good most of the time.

Since we were at Cafe Mirage we ordered food. I just had dinner so I wanted something small. Therefore I ordered the "Honey Munch" or whatever it was. Tinnie ordered a mango juice and that's what we had for the duration of the time we were there. As you can see from the photo's the lighting in the place was horrible. It was super dim and I was so close to handing the owner of the store an Ikea catalog to purchase a few lamps for the store.

Continuing on with the story, the mango drink was apparently awesome and my piece of cake was super duper sweet. It wasn't sickening sweet, it was more of like the sweet enough to sweep you off your feet type of sweet. It made me smile for some reason even though I did not think it tasted that special. As we further discussed the lighting I mentioned that it'd be nice to see who you were eating with. Tinnie insisted that it may have been that they did not wish to see their companion. I therefore stated that Cafe Mirage was perfect for blind dates since if they were ugly, you wouldn't have to see much of her. If they ask you when you'll stop drinking, you can simply answer "When you start looking prettier."

As our time flew by that might I made a couple sketches of potential banners and posters for Tinnie's Toronto Police Picnic at Burrow's Hall, which happens annually during the month of June. It had been the reason she had called me out since I was her artistic assistant. It was also why she was paying for my dessert. Later that night she drove me home and I arrive home around 11:30 ish. The one thing I had learned today that I should've remembered is that sometimes, you should rely more on your friends, because sometimes they'll pull through in times you wouldn't expect. Friends are an awesome way to slay boredom.

I want a green one~

This was somewhat of a boring week. Nothing really happened but it ended quite nicely. I had a nice day today because our school had an event where they opened a Blood Donor Clinic in one of our gyms. The whole day students and teachers were giving blood to the organization. I was not qualified to give blood however so I was not involved. During math class we had a work period. During this work period my teacher chuckled continuously and we finally asked him "Mr. J what are you looking at?" He told us to go over so we did and it was an energy drink commercial where a squirrel licked the bottle cap of the drink and went hyper playing soccer with his acorn. I cannot believe how simple entertainment can be for an adult of his age. It was truly amazing.

Afterwords in fourth period we received a sheet about a possible epidemic called the Swine Flu or H1N1. Since it was bio class my teacher got so caught up in spilling all his knowledge on diseases and vaccines he totally forgot about our lesson. We of course also helped to nudge him in a certain direction. He mentioned that earlier medical drugs were created from grinding the bark of willow trees, which fundamentally created aspirin. Linking that to another medicine related tree we decided to throw him a curve ball once he mentioned the tree of life. "But Mr. B, isn't the tree of life where the baboon (Rafiki) in the Lion King lives in the movie?" He denied our comment with great disbelief. "No, it is! It's like the circle of life but a tree!" If you had seen the face on my teacher you would've believed he gave up all hope in teaching whatsoever. To add insult to injury we began singing the Circle of Life song from the movie. Our torment ended as school ended.

After school Luna and I waited for Ella to finish up with her work before we all left. On my way home I stopped by a grocery store to buy a box of Bear Paws, soft cookies, and a jug of mango juice. It cost me exactly five dollars. I hadn't been in the best mood the entire week and eating while listening to music on my way home really cheered me up. Something about stuffing yourself with sweets really lifts my spirits. The lesson of the day would have to be, shop wisely and remember it doesn't take a lot to be happy because we are the ones that truly decide if we are happy or not.

On another note, I had just watched Daft Punk's animation Interstella 5555 where they blend their house music with a tale of musical aliens from outer space. It was definitely something I had never seen before. Lastly I would like to add that I am very intrigued by the new green coloured Nintendo DS that has been released here. It is a colour I love and I wish to one day obtain one.
