I want a green one~

This was somewhat of a boring week. Nothing really happened but it ended quite nicely. I had a nice day today because our school had an event where they opened a Blood Donor Clinic in one of our gyms. The whole day students and teachers were giving blood to the organization. I was not qualified to give blood however so I was not involved. During math class we had a work period. During this work period my teacher chuckled continuously and we finally asked him "Mr. J what are you looking at?" He told us to go over so we did and it was an energy drink commercial where a squirrel licked the bottle cap of the drink and went hyper playing soccer with his acorn. I cannot believe how simple entertainment can be for an adult of his age. It was truly amazing.

Afterwords in fourth period we received a sheet about a possible epidemic called the Swine Flu or H1N1. Since it was bio class my teacher got so caught up in spilling all his knowledge on diseases and vaccines he totally forgot about our lesson. We of course also helped to nudge him in a certain direction. He mentioned that earlier medical drugs were created from grinding the bark of willow trees, which fundamentally created aspirin. Linking that to another medicine related tree we decided to throw him a curve ball once he mentioned the tree of life. "But Mr. B, isn't the tree of life where the baboon (Rafiki) in the Lion King lives in the movie?" He denied our comment with great disbelief. "No, it is! It's like the circle of life but a tree!" If you had seen the face on my teacher you would've believed he gave up all hope in teaching whatsoever. To add insult to injury we began singing the Circle of Life song from the movie. Our torment ended as school ended.

After school Luna and I waited for Ella to finish up with her work before we all left. On my way home I stopped by a grocery store to buy a box of Bear Paws, soft cookies, and a jug of mango juice. It cost me exactly five dollars. I hadn't been in the best mood the entire week and eating while listening to music on my way home really cheered me up. Something about stuffing yourself with sweets really lifts my spirits. The lesson of the day would have to be, shop wisely and remember it doesn't take a lot to be happy because we are the ones that truly decide if we are happy or not.

On another note, I had just watched Daft Punk's animation Interstella 5555 where they blend their house music with a tale of musical aliens from outer space. It was definitely something I had never seen before. Lastly I would like to add that I am very intrigued by the new green coloured Nintendo DS that has been released here. It is a colour I love and I wish to one day obtain one.
