I want you all to myself~

On this glorious day, I had the perfect day planned for me, my best friend, and Jam another close friend of mine. It started off with a nice comfy awakening as I gently rolled out of bed. I turned on my computer and screamed, not sung, to my new favourite song All To Myself by Mariannas Trench and got prepared to leave. I arrived at Pacific Mall my all time favourite mall since it had a ton of neat collectibles and foods not found anywhere else. I was early of course since it is always better for the gentlemen to wait for the lady, and Ashy. I called them up to check where they were and to my amazement, Jam was still in bed. However, Ashy was already there and we met at the front entrance of the mall. She looked gorgeous today. She was wearing a pink tee and a purple and pink checkered kilt like dress. Jam then magically called me to inform me that she was there in less than 10 minutes since I had last called her. She looked nice too. I know you probably think I'm being dry but it's because I had seen Jam for the majority of the week and Ashy only twice since the summer had begun.

We went about our merry way to Station Asia to have our lunch. Upon arrival we sat in big comfy couches and ordered. I ordered something I do not remember, and Ashy and Jam shared a ketchup cooked chicken. The menu actually had ketchup cooked pork but Ashy asked if they had chicken and the nice lady actually made it for her. After agreeing to make her ketchup chicken, Ashy also asked for extra pineapple, which to me was the cutest thing I had ever heard. We ate and talked about nothing important at all. That was what I loved the most about being around close friends. Discussions never need a topics, and topics never need a direction to head in. While preoccupied with talking I burned my tongue since the spoon had touched the bottom of my bowl, which was boiling hot. I of course gave out a somewhat manly scream before I proceeded to burn my hand too as it accidentally hit the side of the bowl. The food was fantastic and the lady even called Ashy pretty. I gave a generous tip of... I think 25% or at least very close to.

We walked around and in search of activities. Without noticing I almost ran into another individual who was not paying attention. With my quick ninja skills I managed to dodge with what Ashy describes as a failed dance move. Ashy had two things in mind for the day. She needed a dress for a wedding she was attending and a phone charm for her sister. We arrived at our first dress store spotting a strapless long flower patterned dress with an elastic upper section to hold the dress up and a ribbon at the back. The suggested price for the dress was $50. I found humor in the fact that the sign in the store said "All 50% Off" but the "All" was clearly scratched off with pencil. When Ashy asked how much I thought the dress would cost I said that it was probably $30 or so but it might be 50% off I'm not too sure since the sign is so indecisive. She went to try the dress on in a toned brown colour. Without a doubt, she was breathtaking. Of course I did not tell her that though, since she gets too many compliments anyways.

We left realizing Jam would in no case try on any of the dresses because she disliked dresses for some strange apparent reason. $50 was steep for such a dress because I think the original price of the dress probably ranged from $15 to $20. I suggested that I could bargain it down to $30 but Ashy did not want to impose. While walking around we came across another store with the exact same dress. Ashy gave me the green light because she actually wanted to watch me fail. I walked in and asked for the price. She said $45 instead of $50 so I knew it was possible. Every lie needs a back story so I spoke. "Excuse me, can you sell me the dress for $30?" She immediately retaliated with "Of course not, for that price I'll go out of business. No one will sell it to you for that cheap." So I responded with "But you're so lang luy (pretty) I'm sure this store will be fine. The thing is, I needa buy it for my girlfriend because its our one month and it'd be a really nice gift. I think she'd love that dress." With somewhat of a long pause she said. "Fine, I'll give it to you this time, I'm new here (I'm positive the store was old) and this is my first sale." So I told her "Yes but since it's for love, your first sale will be a lucky one." And so we got the dress for $30. Ashy lit up like the fourth of July. I was glad I could still make her smile. If she was going to ask me why I was being so stingy with my girlfriends gift, I had another back story to cover that one. That my girlfriend was in HK and that when she flew back I would bring her the dress, and then take her to a very fancy expensive restaurant. The first rule to bargaining is to always have a reason to come up short on cash. If they know you have the cash, they'll never lower the price.

After such an adventure, Ashy and Jam praised me for a good couple of minutes telling me how they thought I was all talk until it actually happened. They seemed so surprised that it had actually worked. I got an Arizona from a bubble tea shop and then we went upstairs to play video games at Playdium. We played Time Crisis and some button pressing game. For Time Crisis, Jam and Ashy played first and Jam's expression when she played was filled with shock and horror. Ashy however was better than both of us at the game. I had much more fun watching them play than I did playing the actual game. Afterwards, we went around in search of phone charms for Ashy's sister and Jam. After going to almost every store we sat down on our own bench and talked for a while. Talking on the bench was one of my favourite parts of the day. Jam played a lot of Rhythm Heaven while Ashy and I caught up on the last little while. At one point I was sitting between Ashy and Jam, and Ashy said "Arn't you lucky sitting between two pretty girls." Being the sarcastic twit I am I told her "What pretty girls? I don't see any." So she corrected herself and said "Ok fine, I'm not a girl, you're sitting beside one pretty girl than." Right then and there we unmasked that Ashy was secretly a cross dresser since she had a kilt on. Apparently it's a dress but I call it a kilt cause it's checkered.

We then proceeded to Ones and Smart Maple in search of phone charms. They were our last resort for the day. Ones is one of my favourite stores because they not only have cute charms and accessories, they have cool stuff for everyday usage such as pillows, kitchenware, stationary, and others as well. We did not get anything at ones today even though I did spot many cute items I would like to obtain. At Smart Maple however, I got a mini Converse shoe key chain, and Jam got another one of her signature headbands. It was blue with two ribbons. Ashy had spotted it first and I loved it because it looked so cute on Jam. I obviously told her it was pretty but she wasn't just in case she was feeling like I had complimented her too much for the day. We need to keep it real here on Planet Earth. None of that over confidence or cocky attitude. So I always remember to occasionally throw in a couple of dry remarks along side my compliments.

Running back around to check for phone charms one last time we ended up buying Jam a Mario Life Gaining Mushroom with a screen wiper type thing attached. We only wanted the mushroom part though so we needed to break the bottom off. In order to do so we needed some sort of tool. We entered another accessory store and the lady asked what colour phone we were trying to match so we told her black. She spent quite some time and effort trying to persuade us to purchase something. I think I gave her the driest reply I could think of without realizing. I ended up asking if we could borrow her pliers and left right after we had ripped off the bottom of the charm we had purchased earlier. We got junk food at a local candy store and chilled for a little while longer. While paying for a drink Ashy bought she needed ten cents and I was taking quite some time to find my two nickels she said "Geez hurry up." I replied with the only thing I could think of at the moment, and now that I reflect upon it, it seems more of a lie. I said "Gosh calm down, you can't rush a lang jai (pretty boy)."

It was then time for Ashy to leave to go to work and for Jam and me to go to play ultimate at school. We parted since she needed to take a different bus and I gave her the biggest hug I could've since I did not know when the next encounter would be. The bus ride to school was actually very nice. We reflected upon the fun day we had and laughed about stupid things that happened. I hope I'll be able to experience this again some other day. Ultimate was unexpected fun today as well. Lan was on the losing team but still acting very triumphant, so it ticked a ton of people off but it was funny when Jason, a senior member went on a raging fury as he screamed at individuals like mad. All in all, the reason I loved my day so much is that I got to spend my day with Ashy. The closeness between us may have been translated as something else by outsiders so if someone not as close was with us we'd have to watch our actions and comments but since it was Jam, we could be ourselves and Jam could see that we were actually really close without doubting my motives. Thanks to Jam and Ashy, I had the time of my life today and probably the best day since summer began. The lesson I learned today is that no matter what happens in your life or whatever goes on, the world will seem like that much of a better place when you find someone you love and someone you cherish.
