Upon meeting up with my fellow badminton buddies we began our trek towards a shady building but taking a bus that passed by all of our houses. Why did we not all just get on the bus at the stop near our houses? I am not quite sure but I do believe it involves an absence of intelligence. After getting on the bus several familiar faces appeared. Vinny (girl that I yell at for changing in the halls) boarded our vessel with a pretty friend, which I regrettably did not get the pleasure to be introduced to. Adace for some odd magical reason also boarded the same bus. This was quite shocking since Adace was the sister of a friend of mine and I had only seen her three times my entire life. They were all of course headed towards a popular Asian mall. On this faithful day I realized that Vinny didn't even know my name and she mistakenly called me John.
Vic led us to our destination and we played for four hours. The place was called Mandarin, and we played doubles Jas and I versus Kat and Vic. The scores were all pretty close and we both won equal amounts of games. I was however extremely exhausted afterwards and fell to the floor still screaming "I'M NOT TIRED! I CAN STILL PLAY!" After having lost all ability to move I still recall myself screaming "I'M NOT TIRED!"
Afterwards we went to a nearby Hot Pot place for dinner. There was this huge cylindrical screen where the video rotated. It was the coolest public television I have ever seen and I will get one in my house in the near future. The TV there played lots of Jay Chou music videos and other Chinese music videos, which made me happy. There was tons of awesome food, my soup base was borscht, and there was lots of pop. I spent a fair bit of time looking around the area for pretty girls but had no luck. Kat spent most of her time very destructively and basically wrecked havoc on our table. I also learned she's not able to break one chopstick using two hands. I laughed at my own expense and I paid dearly with mind numbing pain. When it came time to pay Vic tried to pay with his debit card for his portion, but the worst case scenario happened. It didn't go through.
Fearing that we may have had to stay behind and wash dishes I quickly went to slap Vic in the face. But realized that may lead to is imminent death so I restrained myself. We pulled together enough money to cover his portion as well in the end but it was not a moment of glory at all. I wanted to go to a cheaper place like T&T and just purchase random items for dinner but apparently I was stupid. At least I didn't suggest a place that costed the four of us $100. Cough cough Vic. We all bussed home safely but I did learn one thing today. Always go for a test run before putting your debit or credit card into action. Or else you'll look like a complete fool in front of your friends.
