Then it hit me. I recall a circus act I had witnessed quite a few years ago. Two clowns went into the middle of the circle. A buff large one attempted to lift weights that were labeled 5000 pounds. Unable to lift the weights he challenged a much smaller skinnier clown to lift the weights. Being the clever clown he was, he removed the three 0's from 5000 reducing it to 5 pounds. With ease he lifted the weights away and the buff clown was stunned with amazment.
I still remember how the circus used to come to town every year. They set up their huge tent near the highway in a large lot. That lot has now become the Superstore: Lablaws. The lesson I learned today is that as the generations pass. Many great experiences will be lost. One day all the great things I had seen and done as a child will be no more. The circus coming to town will be a myth. Sure Cirque du Soleil will still be there, but what ever happened to those $5 ones I had so enjoyed as a child coming from a middle class family. Now only super rich folks will enjoy such a circus with Cirque du Soleil ticket prices topping $100.
